INTRODUCTION - HOMEOPATHIC CLINICAL REPERTORY

In May 2008, we have edited in our personal site (www.homeoesp.org) a Clinic Homeopathic Repertory structured by pathologies.

Then writing in a introductory mode:
“A Homeopathic Repertory is essentially a compilation of certain elements, arranged so - usually by letter and chapters with specific characteristics – so that could be located so ease as possible.

The homeopathic repertory is an index of collected symptoms from toxicological trials records, both in healthy and healing clinical practice, which are reproduced and artfully arranged in a practical way, helping us to associate the symptom to a drug or group of them, which are cited in different degrees, with the aim of facilitating the rapid selection of a simillimum.

Some of this examples are the repertories of Boenninghausen, Kent, Barthel, Kunzli, Aldo Farias Dias, Favilla, Ariovaldo, among many others - look at this website to the Practical Homeopathic Symptoms Repertoire and the Practical General Homeopathic Symptoms Repertoire.

However, it soon emerged the so-called Clinical Repertories, the more questionable under Hahnemann's point of view, because they proceed a simplistic choice of remedy, involving certain remedies to certain diseases – regardless of the criticisms, we highlight some that present the possible perfection, the Boericke's and Clarke's.

In a clinical repertory, of general characteristics, such as that presented below - the most similar to a therapeutic index - the remedies should be described in accordance with the experience and use, depending on what else may agree to the treatment of listed diseases.

In order to have a maximized efficiency, this type of repertory should be reported to specific Materia Medica. In our case, we have essentially two established works, sometimes enough for practical use by: Treaty of Homeopathic Materia Medica of Vannier and Poirier, and also the Materia Medica by William Boericke. Occasionally, we use the Dictionary of Practical Materia Medica of Clarke.

A Clinical Repertory, though short, can establish itself as a valuable help for beginners on the homeopathic art of healing - here, we can not forget to advise the use of Homeopathic Prescriptions - The disease, its symptoms and revenue of Medicine Homeopathic, John H. Clarke, Editorial Martins Fontes. However, nothing can replace the use of homeopathic repertory in a Kentish formulation, strongly suggesting to find a simillimum based upon the Materia Medica as result of the enumeration of all symptoms of a patient.

The remedies listed in each item, will only act in the patient if there is a close to perfect match, at least a relativistic imperfection between its pathogenesis and clinical and specific features. The choice of remedy requires the reading of Materia Medica (aforementioned), so that the therapist can match so much similarity as possible. Almost every remedies set out in items can be studied on the site – for differential diagnosis – (
www.homeoesp.org).

Just remembering that the valuable aid by Clinical Repertory or a Clinical Therapeutic Index cannot be a excuse to laziness, otherwise it becomes an instrument of error and negligence, destroying its purpose, especially for the initiated.”

Later, I was adding to the Clinical Repertory, new items and specifying treatments according to the principles of complexist and pluralist schools. Aware of the difficulties inherent in the application of a Homeopathy Unicism, I edited in this blog, a set of relevant short articles to the homeopathic treatment of certain diseases.

There, in the article HOMEOPATHIC TREATMENT II, we wrote:

“In this blog, it included a set of articles relating to the homeopathic treatment of certain diseases and in some cases, symptoms”.

In each article, with no mention of specific symptoms and is potentially applicable to the clinical picture of the sick, the listed remedies require an analysis of its pathogenesis, by means of Materia Medica.

Now, we are editing a series of new articles, which will arise on the basis of studies that we have and we will be made available, either through our own research or by facing reviews with others authors. They have therefore, a logical ordering, and there may be several "summaries" referring to the same pathology. This fact advises the use of the researcher's blog.

We will focus on clinical indications and treatment protocols of recognized homeopaths, in particular, Banerji, Boericke, John H. Clarke, Levrat, Pigeot, Setiey, Tetau, Vannier, Poirier, Zimmermann, and some of which were used and clinically proven by us.

As in the initially published articles, we will not give the definition of diseases, because experience teaches us that the research is carried out by those already well informed about the symptoms, signs and other physiopathological peculiarities of those.

Oncology - generically identified, as cancer on the blog's labels covers extreme situations too - will have our immediate attention, which is perfectly understandable. The same is true of diseases that allopathic medicine does not give a satisfactory answer.

In these cases, treatment should still be continued for two or three months, to achieve a cure or a stabilization of disease, progressively reducing the dose, in the next six months. It may be necessary to continue treatment for another year - to prevent relapse - with substantial reduction in doses.

Strictly speaking, there are no rigid rules and each patient must be personally considered - a principle that applies to all diseases. Please note that the treatment is not limited to the primary tumor, and obviously it extends itself the course to possible metastases.

On the one hand, our training is Unicist, on the other hand, we know that in practice, the therapist should have - or the patient – a reliable index, although easier, which may promote the relief or cure the ills of their patients or themselves.

It will look seemingly strange that a unicist homeopath chooses to disclose treatment protocols or to indicate some “recipes”, a particular remedies for a particular disease. However, fundamentalism is not a virtue, and our desperate attempt to save our four-legged friend, "Brat John" - perhaps some day I find myself depressed, homesick and I will narrate the history of a recovery judged impossible - sent us by that way. Even tortuous and uncertain, it can lead to the minimization or elimination of the sufferings of millions of human beings, without recourse to a conscientious study of the similarity - that constitutes the reference of homeopathic practice.

Thus, the clinical experience of renowned homeopaths becomes useful.

The prescription of Hering's decimals (DH) follows the framework that associates constitutional remedies to certain systems, and organotropics - synonym of small remedies.

Organotherapie uses low potencies - 4 DH - in systemtropy, middle potencies - v.g. 12 a 15 DH – and high potencies – v.g. 30 DH – in constitutional therapeutics.

The remedies between 4 DH and 8 DH have a stimulant action. Between 12 a 15 DH, they have an enzymatic modulation action, both in a inhibition and stimulation sense. From 20 to 30 DH, they have an informative action.
Doses can be established in accordance with the following scheme:
- 1 DH a 8 DH – several times a day;
- 12 DH a 15 DH – once a day, preferably in the evening;
- 30 DH – three in three days time;
- higher potencies – once a week, once a month...

The number of drops or granules can range from 3 to 5 – here it will worth the experience of the homeopath.

In the French school's view, which draws on the hahnemanians centesimals, acute conditions - organic or lesional areas – it uses low dilutions (5 CH), in sub acute conditions - functional domain - the medium dilution (5 to 9 CH); and in chronic conditions - especially in the mental sphere – they are employed high dilutions (over 9 CH, most notably, the 30 and 200 CH)

The initiate in the healing art of homeopathy should begin by delivering low doses, or average, increasing potencies gradually in the light of accumulating clinical experience. It should also be aware of the fact that the continuous repetition of a substance might cause a serious drug disease - iatrogenic - the only way to cure or minimize symptoms is the use of antidotes substances.

Our advice, if you are starting in homeopathic practice, is beginning with low dilutions, increasing them gradually.

So, once found, the simillimum or the most appropriate remedy, therapy may be initiated with a dose of 6 CH – the less prone to complications, some authors refer to - increased progressively once the effect ends, for 12 CH, 15 CH and 30 CH.

The remedies may be in a form of drops, granules or globules. Them all are given sublingually, as a rule, twenty or fifteen minutes before, or half an hour after meals.

According to the degree of dinamization-dilution, the pluralistic rules advocate the following:
- If it's a 5 CH, twice, three or more times a day;
- If it's a 7 CH, three granules, once a day;
- If it's a 30 CH, three granules, two in two or three in three days time.

15 granules taken at once can replace a dose of globules - in the market with such a name:
- If it's a 15 CH, once a week.
- If it's a 30 CH, once a month.

Drops are shed sublingually or dissolved in pure water - 1 drop per tablespoon of water.

All these values conveyed by the pluralist school are indicative only - watch out that several practical have developed new rules for dosage, highlighting the Banerji protocols.

In the protocols, the patient has his task facilitated, notwithstanding that it may need to make some adjustments, either in dose or frequency with which it is repeated. Considering remedies, individually, it must be set a differential diagnosis, so that a similar might be found, a remedy that most closely resembles the patient's condition.

When the remedy found to be matched with a clinical case, dilution, dosage and frequency of repetition are merely indicative, it just need to adjust for reaction, improvement or worsening of the patient, there are a number of situations that require a reassessment of that.

Here, it is of fundamental importance to study both the pathogenesis of remedies or the principles that shape the healing art of homeopathy.

Some of the drugs have a dilution indication, and we must follow the rules above, for treatment in the dose and frequency relation – v.g. 5 or 6 CH and 4 or 8 DH, 3 drops 3 or more times per day, spacing as a function of improvement or re-evaluating the case for lack of it.

The protocols and some of the drugs, individually considered, may be advisable in some cases, reduce the number of drops, especially from 5 to 3 or 3 to 2. Only assessment and review of clinical cases might be taken as a therapeutic reference.

If treatment is administered in the form of drops, the bottle should be shaken vigorously 10 times with each new take. In the long-term treatment, discontinue the medication one day a week.

The search for articles on the blog and the success of thousands of prescriptions urged us to simplify a search, so we have been organizing the already published articles in portuguese under a single TAG, alphabetically listed, allowing for a quicker consultation.

In this blog, the ARTICLES IN ENGLISH are gradually published without alphabetic order.

This edition has enabled instead, his updated, and an actions description, even partial, of remedies cited in the original repertory – it makes the comparison with the Clinical Repertory contained in the mentioned site.

Moreover, some diseases, we compound the therapeutic possibilities of a protocol with oral treatment, as shown in Heel - Ordinatio Antihomotoxic et Materia Medica - The Practical Therapy Antihomotoxic.

We observe that for a fully effective results, it might be added a complementary treatment to the oral treatment protocol, with specific remedies, of possible similarity or suitable for demobilization of any "barriers", notably with the particulars of the practical repertory.

It is obvious, from his analysis, that this repertoire is lacking both an extension or a more efficient systematization, we assume failure to act.

The main homeopathic remedies, some two hundred - with which we can solve virtually all clinical cases - have their provings, if somewhat briefly, that is, with the description of all its key symptoms, edited in our blog (see below) - use the searcher's blog on the top left corner.

However, we sometimes have to resort to small remedies and others, whose pathogenesis have been recently established. And it is entirely understandable, that therapists themselves or patients feel curious about the effects of multiple substances used in homeopathic medical practice.

These, which are set out in Article: MATERIA MEDICA HOMEOPATICA – MEDICAMENTOS ONLINE
